7 Free AI Apps to Make Your Life Easier
These 7 Free AI apps will help you work faster — and better.
Please note that some of these apps might not be available on iOS, while others may not be available on Android.
1. ChatGPT
Let’s start with the ChatGPT, which completely changed the AI industry.
It is available in both free & paid versions:
- ChatGPT Plus which is powered by the GPT-4.
- And standard ChatGPT which runs on GPT 3.5.
If you’re already familiar with using ChatGPT on your computer, you’ll find the mobile app quite similar. One thing that I absolutely appreciate is its chat functionality, which is akin to interacting with Siri or Google Assistant.
Note: The free version of ChatGPT doesn’t have internet browsing capabilities. It relies solely on the information from its training data to answer questions.
2. Pi: Personal AI Assistant
Now if you want a free chatbot that can access the internet to show you updated information then Pi chatbot is for you.
It comes from an Inflection AI company whose CEO Mustafa Suleyman used to be a part of Google’s Deep Mind.
Pi is designed to be more conversational and personal, making it slightly different from other chatbots focusing more on providing information.
I think it is a great free alternative to ChatGPT Plus.
3. Perplexity
I am sure many of you have heard about Perplexity and in my opinion, it’s the best free app for researching and learning about various topics.
What makes Perplexity different from something like Google is that it doesn’t just give you a list of websites. Instead, it tries to answer your question directly and even suggests more questions you might be interested in. It also shows where it got its information from, so you know it’s reliable.
Another cool feature of Perplexity is the “Discover” tab. It suggests interesting topics for you to explore, kind of like an AI-powered encyclopedia.
4. Whisper Memos
Do you use voice notes a lot? If you do, you’ll love Whisper Memos!
All you have to do is record your voice in this app, and it will convert your voice into text. The accuracy is pretty good, but sometimes it might misspell a word.
The best part is that it converts your notes into paragraphs which makes it easier to read.
And the sad part is that it is only available for iOS.

5. Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard
Once you download this app, your mobile keyboard will be powered by AI capabilities.
For instance, if you are writing an email or something professional, it will provide suggestions to improve grammar, fix spelling mistakes, and enhance the clarity of your text.
Additionally, you can also translate your messages into any language, which is useful if you are talking to someone who doesn’t speak your language.
In my opinion, the best feature is the ability to generate images using DALL-E directly within the app.
Although I’ve covered some of its best features, there are still a few more that you can read in the Bing Blog Post.
6. Adobe Express (beta)
Adobe recently launched their new app, Adobe Express, which comes with Firefly generative AI capabilities. Since it is currently in its beta version, you might encounter some bugs while using it.
Here are some of the features you can use:
- Text-to-image: Easily create unique images from text.
- Generative Fill: Seamlessly insert, remove, or replace people or objects in images.
- Text Effects: Enhance your text with AI-generated styling options.
- Video: It offers templates, music, animations, and auto-generated captions to create captivating videos.
- Quick Actions: Edit photos and videos, remove backgrounds, and resize images quickly and efficiently.
If you are an iOS user and want to use this app then you’ll need to join the waitlist. Otherwise, wait until the app’s official launch to use it.
7. Arc Search
Arc search is the second app on this list that’s only available on iOS (but is expected to launch on Android soon).
This is the browser that browses for you.
Just enter the topic you are interested in, it will scan a bunch of websites, gather relevant information, and present it to you on a single web page.
This is the easiest way to find information on any topic without visiting multiple sites.

Final Thoughts
Now, there are other free AI apps as well, but I haven’t included them in this list because they aren’t particularly useful. This list only contains those apps that you can use daily to make your workflow a bit easier.
